That sometimes I wish that clock over there is a tachometer?
My merc revs all the way to 12,000 RPM!

Why not a horsepower gauge? "My car's putting out 12,000HP!!" (or more realistically, 1,200)

Hmm
Rolls Royce's Power Reserve gauge sounds better.
"I'm doing 60mph now, and according to the dial over there, 120% engine power is still on reserve"

That's a lot of gauges! Fuel, oil temp, tacho, spedo, and a clock?
All you really need is spedo, tacho, and either fuel level or oil temp
"My merc revs all the way to 12,000 RPM!"
That's cute.

Well, my first car even didn't come with tachometer. It's kia tough.
And oh, I think scooters with cvt revs a bit higher than that. I have a Yamaha mio scooter at home, which is revving so high that the manufacture didn't bother to include a tachometer. At idle, it revs at 7-8000rpm.

I wouldn't be surprised. The Honda CBR250RR has a redline somewhere in the 19k to 20k range.
